Division of Psychology

Welcome to the Division of Psychology’s Home Page! We are proud of our history, of who we are now, and the important role we play not only in our own Department and institution, but in psychological research, clinical care, and training nation-wide. As a division we play an integral role in the UMMC Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior’s education/training, clinical, and research missions.

We are exceptionally proud of our nationally recognized Psychology Internship Training Program, which trains academically-focused psychology interns and post-doctoral fellows. Program alumni enjoy leadership and research careers in prominent institutions across the country. Please check out our internship web page.

The Division of Psychology has a rich history of conducting clinical research and of attracting federal, state, and foundation funding. Our faculty provide service on numerous editorial boards, are members of National Institutes of Health Study Sections, and provide ad hoc grant review for numerous federal agencies and foundations. You can access detailed information about faculty research by following this link: Research

Finally, our faculty have leadership roles in several UMMC Centers: The Center for Advancement of Youth (CAY), the Center for Integrated Health (CIH), the Student Counseling and Wellness Center (SCWC) and the Center for Innovation and Discovery in Addictions (CIDA). These Centers are engaged in cutting edge work that makes a difference in the domains of science, training, and public service. We invite you to explore what each is doing.
